Using the software to limit your volume can be done easily with a few clicks. Accessing the general settings panel, you will find options for creating your own presets and even for scheduling them. By default you can find presets for games, evening, muting everything and others. For faster use, Volume Lock lets you select and apply a preset which will automatically limit certain volumes. You only need to find the item you are looking for in the list. You can either limit the global volume, the one from a certain application or even recording volumes. You can also do exactly the same thing for balance or you can simply mute the selected volume. Finally, clicking the lock icon, found in the same area, will make the rule take effect immediately. These simple rules will force the volume to be equal to your given value or set it to be lower or higher than it. You can type a volume value (from 1 to 100) in a small dialog box and select one of the five rules from a drop menu. Setting up a rule can be done by selecting an item and making use of the few options placed on the right side of the window. They are all organized in a tree structure, according to their categories. The main part of the interface features a list of volumes. Downloading it will also be fast due to the package's small size (463 Kb).
